 “The most beneficial about the school that they organise the other activities like the BBC'S Tiny Happy People which helps the children to be motivated and creative along with their families.”

“The staff are amazing and are always willing to help with anything you need. With N they identified that he wasn’t happy / coping well in the mainstream class and moved him which has helped him come along really well. All the staff are fantastic but the staff in purple and green are brilliant and make everything so much easier (e.g. EHCPs, questions you have).”

 " I really liked the space both inside and outside the rooms. There are activities for all children to enjoy. The group time and visits to the woods etc. have all been good.” 

“Potty training was fantastic, built great relationship with my child. She enjoyed coming.”

 “We love that she’s able to do what she wants – whether that’s playing out or painting – whenever she fancies. The Stay & Play were really beneficial in making sure she felt confident and comfortable with the people around her before starting. It’s also great to hear that there’s always visitors and different things happening.”

“My child’s relationship with his key worker Robina is the most heart-warming thing to have seen.  It is because of the way she’s cared for him that I know he was well looked after and cared for and there is nothing more important than that to me.”

“An inclusive environment, focused on children’s needs & abilities.  Staff who ‘Get it’ when it comes to SEN needs.  A real caring ethos.  Robina in green room is an outstanding role model for the other support staff & really understands her children in the room.  Would be great for her to spend time in mainstream rooms teaching some of the staff about SEN needs and strategies she uses to settle children into class when they struggle.”

“E has had a lot of opportunity to do different things at nursery (including going to the nursing home, the Christmas Show etc) which he has loved and really benefitted.”

“W has really thrived at SCNS and I’m always pleasantly surprised when she does something we’ve never seen before.  W has learnt so much in her 17 months here and grown in confidence.  She loves her main carer, Nicola and always looks forward to seeing her at nursery.  So much so, W loves to pretend at home she’s reading story time too us and asking us to call her teacher ‘Nicola’.”

“From my experience, there is good inductions and good preparations for transitions to upper classes internally. I have been made aware of this. The classroom environment seems to be child focus and child friendly. There is good communication at hand overs and opportunity to pass any significant info on whether it is from me as a parent or from staff to parent. There seems to be a good ratio of staff in each of the room. My children had settled in to their classes well. Staff in yellow room i.e. Zakia and the others are lovely. Always greeting them with happy faces and getting them prepare for end of day in a calm and caring manner.”

“In general, staff at nursery is what makes the nursery a really good choice for my children. As stated above the classroom staff are fantastic. I can safely say that all the classroom staff have lovely attitude. Over the two years, staff have been the similar, which is good for the children as it's familiar faces. Additionally, the reception and admin staff are really helpful and friendly. The email updates on a weekly basis are helpful.”

“My younger child started nursery in September 2023, and settled in really well in the red room. Pam, Sabahat, Rizwana, Rafiana and the placement/apprentice girls have supported my child's settlement and continued progress within nursery. I have been able to meet with my child's key person Sabahat on a regular basis and she has been mindful of my situation and offered practical solutions in order to make it that bit easier for me. This has been greatly appreciated. At the parent consultations, Sabahat talks positive of my child's progress and any support needs. She has additional as mum of young children herself has been able to relate to my own worries re choices/changes and provided reassurance. My child has been toilet trained last year and again Sabahat and Pam have both been able to provide helpful tips during this process.”

"I wanted it to be noted that whilst the nursery is still newish for my son, I can't help but notice how quickly he has settled. I was expecting it to be a big change and thought that it would probably take quite a while to accept the change. However, thankfully, not only has he adjusted to the change but seems to be thriving in this nursery provision. As a parent, this is incredibly reassuring that he is happy and he will be ok. Additionally, when we tell him he is going to nursery in the morning of the days he attends, he will repeat to us 'nursery' or 'nursery nice.' We have had a parents evening consultation which was very positive and she also spoke about other things, outside of nursery such as dummy, toilet training etc and it was nice to know that all this support is there and we can work together. It was also mentioned that there were reading books about having a new sibling in the family, which again is lovely, as it shows that nursery isn't viewing what goes on at home as a separate entity but realised that this could affect his social/emotional well-being and supporting him adequately and holistically. I had initially thought that I will reconsider nursery once my mum comes back from abroad, however I feel like this is a great nursery and I now wish for my daughter to join the nursery next year too. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank the staff for all their good work also so please could you filter my feedback to the head as I feel the great work of your staff needs to be recognised. "
